Poster Frames are an inexpensive and inspired way to decorate your business, be it storefront or office!  Turn those white walls into an island getaway or post inspirational quotes for your employees.  Posters open windows to other worlds, and the possibilities are nearly endless – but you are going to need poster frames to keep them from ripping or fading.

While posters come in a myriad of shapes and sizes, there is a nearly infinite number of options for what your poster looks like.  One route is to buy a pre-printed, mass produced poster.  There is a mind boggling selection of posters available online, including all manner of international and vintage options.  You could also display posters from your vendors, showcasing the products or services you sell – helping propel your own business.  Another route is to design your own unique signs for your unique business.  Build your own graphics, put in your targeted advertising slogan, and add photographs and/or artwork as you see fit. Whether promoting a product, event, service or sentiment (such as brand loyalty), a poster needs to be dynamic enough to immediately engage the attention of passers-by. There is no silver bullet to accomplish this; success can be as rooted in the instant power of a succinct slogan and a compellingly simple design as it can in the elegant appeal of an intricate and artistic design.  (Fear not – We will return to the topic of designing your posters in later posts!)

So you have chosen a poster – now what?  There are plenty of printers available online, and at a cost that is entirely reasonable! Remember that the cost of having a poster printed as temporary signage for your business is so reasonable that it can be done several times a year for special events or sales. Whatever you decide is proper for your purposes, you will want a poster frame to protect and accent the poster you’ve chosen.

Poster Frames are a necessary purchase, unless you want to use pushpins – most posters come frame-less.  Historically, posters were originally printed for temporary use only, and were glued to walls and billboards to advertise an event, such as a concert or movie.  Businesses caught on to the effectiveness of the advertising method, and began making them for their own products and services.  Because of the history of short term posting of posters, many of the frames made to house these are also built for short term use.  When a poster does come in a frame, it tends to be fabricated from thin and easily damaged plastic; these frames are not built to stand the test of time.  At only a minor increase in cost, you could invest in a sturdy, commercial grade poster frame that will not break or become outdated with time.  Commercial poster frames are built to stand the test of time and use, and come in classic styles that will continue to look modern through the years.
