Some Custom Signs just don’t work. Why?
Custom Signs are created for a specific purpose. Unlike an OPEN or CLOSED sign, your custom sign tells your potential customers a special fact about your business. What kinds of custom signs are there?
Your company’s name and logo would warrant a custom sign, assuming it isn’t part of a chain, regional office, or franchise. A new product or service could also command a custom sign. Imagine a sidewalk sign in front of your favorite coffee shop that pictures a beautiful bagel with cream cheese, lox, and a beautiful wisp of red onion garnish with the words: Join us for Special Breakfast Treats on Sundays – Now Open at 7 am for Bagels. This could make a real difference to you as a bagel lover, on how late to sleep in on Sunday morning.
Sales and special pricing is another reason to have a Custom Sign designed. Pre-Christmas, Christmas and After-Christmas sales come immediately to mind, but there are also Graduation Specials, Wedding Specials, Spring Planting Time….the list goes on. You can make your own Sales Season with a clever sign and visible placement.
After being in business for a while, creating a new business image is a good idea. It can remind people that you are still in business and are ready to help them. You can refresh your logo and the style of your company name to draw in both old and new customers.
The simplest of custom signs is probably the Chalkboard A-Frame that can be changed on a daily basis. These versatile signs are often used outside of restaurants for their daily specials, but have also been used to post store hours and promotions. White Boards and Chalkboards are excellent for attracting walk-by traffic to walk-in and shop.
Let’s not forget the signs that are needed for special events: trade shows, charity events, school and church events, and street fairs. Printing signs for one time use has become very reasonable in cost, especially if there is a logo or design that can be easily adapted to the sign’s dimensions.
Political signs, garage sale signs, and farmers market signs can be printed on Corrugated Plastic and posted on metal legs in a lawn or garden. These super inexpensive signs can be printed with bright letters and photo quality graphic images.
Here’s the thing: Be sure to read your sign before you post it… otherwise you could end up with a sign like this:
And you don’t want that, do you?
